GLENN OTTAWAY
 |
Performing for over 25 years, Glenn Ottaway has done
just about everything. Beginning as an amateur magician in
his early teens, and turning professional at 16, he began his
lifelong journey in showbiz. From circus sideshow to the
Royal York's Imperial Room, Glenn has made his passion of live
entertainment his life.
Glenn has appeared from coast to coast, and from San Antonio,
Texas, to Alert, N.W.T. (just south of the North Pole). A
10-year stint as resident host and MC of "A Little Night
Magic" (Canada's longest continuously running Magic/Comedy Cabaret)
didn't anchor him.
He has worked every possible venue, from the International Plowing
Match to the Imperial Theatre in St. John, New Brunswick. He
has appeared with Blue Rodeo, the Farmer's Daughter, Lawrence
Gowan, Moxy Fruvous, The Spoons, The Skydiggers and the Waltons,
not to mention the golden oldies Brenda Lee and The Four Lads.
Perhaps you've seen Glenn at his long-standing gig at the Canadian
National Exhibition, or on ONTV's "Comedy at Club 54", "Cooking
With Comics", A&E's "Variety Tonight", "Eye On Toronto" or the
Pay-Per-View comedy special "Mondo Taboo 2". Maybe you'll
recognize him at Bob and Doug Mackenzie's cellmate in "Strange
Brew", or the off-kilter preacher in "Liar's Edge", or most
recently, the sagacious drunken sailor in the Gemini-award winning
episode of "Due South", "Mountie on the Bounty".
Glenn may look like a veteran biker but it doesn't take long for
an audience to realize he is their friend, their soul mate, their
voice in this ever-changing complicated world. Glenn believes
you don't have to shock an audience into listening, nor preach to
teach. Whether he is delivering a message, or just a laugh or two,
audiences always leave with a smile on their faces.
