GLEN FOSTER
 |
Glen Foster is a
popular headliner at clubs, concert halls and corporate functions through
North America. He has also performed in Great Britain and Australia
and has entertained on trans-Atlantic cruises. Glen has been invited
several times to the renowned "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival in
Montreal and has appeared on numerous TV shows including A&E's "An Evening
At The Improv", "Jongleurs Live" (UK) and CBC's "COMICS!". He has
also written and performed political commentary for CTV's news magazine
show "W-5".
A 38-year-old former copywriter, Glen typifies the middle-aged,
middle-class, middle-management guy who's struggling deperately to
understand his ever-changing role in these high-tech, high-stress and
politically-correct times. Beneath his quiet, reserved exterior,
there is frustration, confusion and anger. Fortunately in Foster's case,
this angst doesn't manifest itself in a shooting spree, but in some of the
most clever and imaginative comedy anywhere.
His act is not just a series of one liners, but rather an intricate,
interwoven pattern of humorous and often thought-provoking ideas and
observations. He has a unique ability to blow simple things totally
out of proportion, while making seemingly complex topics understandable
and devastatingly funny. His delivery alternates between laid back,
low key and sudden, explosive ranting. Add to that an occasional
slip into "The Dark Side" of his psyche and the result is pure comedy
dynamite!
