Torontonian David Merry is definitely an act to see!
An extremely visual performer, he keeps busy with a trunk full of
imaginative props (his own inventions) and some of the best
one-liners in comedy today. In fact, David has written
material by request for Jay Leno at The Tonight Show, Rodney
Dangerfield and a host of other comedy superstars.
As an international headliner, David has well over 5,000 shows to
his credit. He has travelled around the globe with comedy
stops in Greece, Alaska, Venezuela, Greenland, Bermuda, Hawaii,
Amsterdam, Italy, Spain, Monte Carlo, Los Angeles, Texas and
Florida, among others.
David's comedy talents have also been featured on a variety of TV
shows, including CBC's "COMICS!", "Open Mike with Mike Bullard" on
the Comedy Network/CTV, CityTV's "Lunch TV" and "Breakfast TV",
"SCTV", "Bizarre", "An Evening at the Improv", "Yuk Yuk's - The TV
Show" and "The Journal".
Currently, David is starring in Global TV's "Get A Grip On
Golf". He is a teaching and playing professional. He is on
the staff of Par Golf Camps and plays in events on the Canadian
Tour and Great Lakes Tour. He is a member of the U.S.G.T.F.
and C.G.T.F. (Canadian Golf Teachers Federation) and carries a
handicap of +2 (below 0). David is also a World Blackjack champion,
a tennis, squash, ping pong, billiards and waterskiing expert.
On September 12, 1999, David began hosting Global TV's sports
trivia program "GAME ON", seen weekly on Sunday afternoons across
Canada at 4:00pm EST.
