Known as a stand-up comedian, television, radio and theatre
wit, Dave Broadfoot's
career got off to a flying
start in his hometown, North Vancouver, where he was born on
December 5th, 1925.
In his 45 years as a professional entertainer, Dave has won 14
awards for writing, producing and performing comedy. He is
also the winner of a Certified Speaking Professional award from the
National Speakers Association in the United States. He is a
recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Silver Jubilee medal, holds an
Honorary Doctorate, holds the rank of Honorary Sergeant Major in
the R.C.M.P., is a Member of the Order of Mariposa and an Officer
in the Order Of Canada. He is also a JUNO Award winner.
Mr. Broadfoot has received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the
Toronto Comedy Festival, the Canadian Association Of Public
Speakers and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
One of the founders of the legendary comedy show (and Canadian
institution) AIR FARCE, his TV special "DAVE BROADFOOT - OLD ENOUGH
TO SAY WHAT I WANT" drew a record breaking audience and was
nominated for a Gemini Award and has recently become a home
video.
His theatre production, "DAVE BROADFOOT'S COMEDY CRUSADE" has
appeared in 130 cities and towns across Canada.
In October 1999, his CBC-TV special "OLD DOG - NEW TRICKS" was a
smash success.
As a public speaker/comedian, Dave Broadfoot's presentations are
incisive, humourous perspectives on the topics with which audiences
are most concerned, from world events to the basic frustrations of
daily life. His comedy contains no racism or sexism and is
continually updated to reflect current issues and events.
